BIO

Based in Northern California, Gretchen Giles is a cannabis activist with 14 years of experience in PR and marketing; seven of them wholly devoted to supporting California’s compliant cannabis industry.

Previous to entering the PR space, Giles was an award-winning journalist and editor who led the North Bay Bohemian (2002-2010) and founded Made Local Magazine (2013-2016).

Giles contributed in 2019 to the Cannabis Appellations Working Group convened by the California Department of Food and Agriculture and is proud to support the Origins Council nonprofit that serves some 800 legacy cannabis farmers across California.

An NEA Fellowship recipient for Visual Arts Journalism, Giles continues to contribute articles on food and the arts as time allows and desire strikes.
